Space Bikini was formed in late 2002 when 3 old friends decided to put their creative brains together and write music
that they themselves would indeed be very happy to listen to. The plan was, and still is, for the band to have as much
fun as possible chasing their dream of making sweet music together for a living.
Hailing from North East Hampshire in the United Kingdom, Space Bikini have been playing their self penned tunes live
across the UK from the very start and taken in such musical hot spots as Frogmore and Ash Vale.
As individuals, Space Bikini have been making music for many years, highlights of which have been appearances at London
venues such as The Mean Fiddler and festivals such as GuilFest and also studio work with producers of bands such as Suede.
Taking their name from the attire of a certain space princess whilst she is prisoner to an evil gangster, Space Bikini have
also taken the time to hone their talent in the studio. A debut single in 2003 preceded a 2-track promotional CD in 2005
and now 2006 brings the bands self recorded and produced debut album, Permkin Merfins.
Now in their 3rd year as an all singing and harmonising 3-piece rock outfit, Space Bikini look forward to many more
creatively prosperous years as the only band in Hampshire with a popular ladies swimming garment in their name.
Influences (in no particular order): Stereophonics, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billy Talent, Audioslave,
Paul Weller, Pearl Jam, Feeder, Muse and many more....
